Before performing the processes of generalization it is necessary to customize parameters of generalization. The main actions for customization of parameters are performed by the responsible specialist (region editor). Customizing parametres of generalization is carried out in the Generalization parameters dialog. Dialog parameters are stored in the file Topogen.ini (Parameters of map generalization). For all source maps of the same scale (created by one classifier) that are converted to the destination scale, it is recommended to do customizing the parameters of individual generalization processes once. The immediate operator of map conversion needs to set the type of map reforming, to provide presence of the classifier (RSC file) of destination map in the source map directory and to set the link of generalization software with the parameters files (to select the name of the directory containing files of parameters). Change of parameters of separate processes of generalization by the operator should be coordinated with the editor of region.
