To work with geoportals, an Internet connection is required. When connecting a geoportal to existing data, it is necessary that the data have projection parameters set with geodesy support. For example, it is not possible to connect a geoportal for a map of the «Large-scale plan» type.

To connect geoportals, you must have and have access to the wmslist_ru.xml and crsregister.xml files. The first contains a list of geoportals and parameters for connecting to them, the second contains a description of supported geo-coverage matrixes and projections, such as GoogleMapsCompatible, Yandex and others. Both files can be edited and supplemented by the user.
