Before execution of generalisation processes it is necessary to execute setup of generalization parameters. The main actions for setting parameters are performed by the responsible specialist (region editor). Customizing parametres of generalization is carried out in the Generalization parameters dialog. Dialog parameters are stored in the file Topogen.ini (Appendix A). For all source maps of the same scale (created by one classifier) that are converted to the output scale, it is recommended to do setting the parameters of individual generalization processes once. The immediate operator of map conversion needs to set the map reform type, to provide presence of the classifier (RSC file) of output map in the source map directory and to set the link of generalization software with the parameter files (to select the name of the directory containing files of parameters). Change of parameters of separate processes of generalization by the operator should be coordinated with the editor of region.
