Assigning rights to users in the software «Passport of the field»

The program supports work with access control and protection against unauthorized access to the database.

When the system starts, each user passes the authentication process, which includes:

- check your username and password;

- defining the user roles;

- specifying the allowable resources of work with the program.

User name is the name of the user login, length no more than 32 characters.

Password is a password of the user to log into the system, length no more than 16 characters.

Name and password of the user are preliminarily formed on the server by regular means.

Role is the group of the users possessing a predefined set of permissions at work with data of SYSTEM. Other name of the Role in system - Users group.

In system six authorized roles are formed: Administrator, Agronomist, Economist, Dispatcher, User, Observer. To each role allowable resources of work with SYSTEM are set.

Software «Passport of the field» provides a service administrator account: login panorama, password panorama. Panorama user should be preliminarily created on the database server and added into used database PanAgro with the rights of the database owner (db_owner) or the administrator of accounts (db_accessadmin).

At initial launch of «Passport of the field» a  process of authentication the user with login “sa” or “panorama” can pass.

User with the Administrator role has an opportunity of maintaining the list of users.

For this purpose on toolbar of the main window click the button and choose the item Maintain a list of users and permissions to resources. The form of work with the list of users is shown in figure.
