Way of error's elimination

Try printing into the file. Send the file to printing by DOS command:

PRINT FILENAME.PRN /b LPT1:

- Change output type from vector to raster or on the contrary (Print  \ Output type). It is possible to learn about support of vector and raster output types from the information window of map print dialog (Print  \ Information).

- Try to change the output format type (Start \ Setting \ Printers \ File \ Standard parameters of printing \ Other \ Printer properties \ OutPutFormat - for CalComp mark printers).

- If the printer driver allows to change printing quality, try to set more low permission (Start\ Setting \ Printers \ File \ Properties \ Graphics \ Permission).

- If the printer allows to use the printer or computer memory at printing sequential queue file  preparation, try to interchange the mode on opposite (for Hewlett-Packard mark printers - Start \ Setting \ Printers \ File \ Properties \ Advanced).

- Try to replace the printing handler (Start \ Setting \ Printers \ File \ Properties \ General \ Handler), if there is a possibility of its installation (the printing handler installation instruction may be in README.TXT file accompanying the printing device driver set). For example, at replacement winprint.dll handler onto cpprint.dll handler for CalComp mark printers in Windows NT the output file size in a raster printing mode may decrease at 8-10 times.

At printing error occurrence in vector output mode try to simplify polygon object filling type  (Select object \ Info \ Hardcopy). The filling of polygon objects by point signs is the most loaded process after TrueType fonts displaying, as at each filling sign printing the multiple repeated duality of its graphics representation is made. It is not recommended to use the point sign for the polygon object background description. Usage of the point sign for the background description results to reducing of displaying on the screen, reducing of printing, and also to unjustifiable increase of the required memory size (disk, the device memory) at printing in a vector mode.

- Try to replace the printing device driver by its new version (if you have this possibility). Perhaps the new printing device driver has the best realization of the output functions onto the printer or has support of strip printing. It is possible to learn about the support by the device the strip printing in the current driver version from the information window of map print dialog (Print  \ Information).

- Try printing in other Windows version (if you have this possibility). There are different  driver sets  are used for different versions of Windows systems (98,NT,2000,XP). Perhaps,  the printing device driver for the other Windows version has the best realization of the output functions onto the printer or has support of strip printing.

- Increase the memory size on the printing device (if you have this possibility). On printers which are not supporting a strip printing the memory size should be in 2-3 times higher than printing file size (for rasterization the vector data at output in a vector mode, and  also for converting the raster data in an internal printer data format  at output  in a raster mode).
