Direct single resection

The direct single resection (measurements are conducted onto a defined point) is one of modes of theodolitic surveying and serves for definition of coordinates of points which can be used in the further as points of a surveying basis or as points which coordinates are necessary for the solution of any other tasks.

At this mode from points A and B (with known coordinates) do measurements onto point P (fig.1), namely, near to surveyed point P measure basis AB and on the ends its angles a and b. Hence, for surveyed point P in triangle ABP the basis AB and two adjacent to it angle a and b will be known.

There are two modes of a direct resection Calculation by Jung formulas and Calculation by F.Gauss formulas. Having chosen one of them, it is possible to enter initial data.

The relative location of defined point P and starting points corresponds to figure of the given bookmark. For calculation with these data to press the Calculate button or Calculate item in the Measurement menu. If necessary, the entered data it is possible to correct and again to press Calculate button.

The calculated coordinates of P point are highlighted on the same bookmark.
