The information about cartographical data is stored in base of metadata. In Manager of maps the contents of a DB (database) are represented in the form of a tree where to each element of a tree the record in a DB corresponds. The DB represents set of files of a format: dbf, dbt, mdx. In dbf files the filename of maps and data for construction of hierarchical connection between files are stored. The mdx file is an index file on a field containing a level of hierarchy. In dbt files the user information on each record of a DB contains. Originally, after installation, the Manager of maps is adjusted onto PANTREE.DBF database entering as an example. The main characteristics of a tree element are represented in the TotalI panel. The user can create a new tree of maps - Create tree of maps item (File menu). Thus, it is offered to specify the name of a new DB and to form the first element of a tree.
For addition and editing of the tree elements the auxiliary dialog Property of element is used. This dialog can be called: - Append, Edit items from Edit menu; - by the buttons - from the contextual menu by the right mouse button.
Deleting elements of a tree occurs: - at a choice of Delete item in the Edit menu; - by the button - from the contextual menu by the right mouse button.
For change of hierarchical structure of a tree you can use the opportunity of plural allocation of elements of a tree for realization of modes: Copy, Cut, Paste and Delete which are called from Edit menu or from the contextual menu by the right mouse button. For marking sequence of elements it is necessary to click the mouse in a combination with Shift key on the first and the last element. For marking separate elements click mouse on the chosen element of a tree in a combination with Ctrl key. The method of Dragging of elements on a tree is realized. One must not drag those elements in which the way to files is specified. Use the Back up mode to cancel functions of editing, the mode can be called from the Edit menu or from the contextual menu.
