Page print margins are set in millimeters from the page edges (left, top, right, bottom). Margin sizes can be entered manually in the lower part of the dialog or using the horizontal and vertical rulers. Overlaps of print areas for adjacent pages of a multi-sheet map are designed to eliminate gaps when gluing pages together. Margins and overlaps reduce the useful output area of a page while increasing the total output area size. Image offset is set in millimeters from the left and top margins of the first (top-left) page. Print area frame Print crop marks Print to file PRINT /D:"\\Ivanov\HP LaserJet 1020" Noginsk.prn > nul
The Outside mode allows setting the transparency level for vector data located outside the contour of the selected object. The selection of the limiting contour is done using the Select area by object mode. The transparency level is set by selecting values from 0% (original image unchanged) to 100% (completely opaque) from the dropdown list when clicking the Outside button. To disable this mode, set the value to 0%. The Outside mode is available for the Select area by object, Entire region (if a contour is already selected), Stretch to page, Split paginated, Stretch vertically or horizontally modes. The display order of the limiting contour depends on the display order of the map on which this contour is selected. This allows restricting visibility not for all open maps.
All actions related to changing the placement of the map on the page, considering margins, offsets, overlaps, and changes in output scale, are recommended to be performed in schematic mode. This is because the map in the preview is displayed in printer view, which leads to slow map redrawing. Schematic mode represents a set of pages, or a single page, depending on the selected mode (Split paginated, Stretch to page, Fit to page size). The printable area on the page is displayed as a gradient fill, outlined by a gray frame.
Page selection is done by holding the Shift or Ctrl keys and clicking the left mouse button. Manual entry of the required pages for printing is also available. You can specify individual pages or ranges. The separators are "," and "-" respectively. For example: "1,5-8,13". When selecting pages to print using the left mouse button, the automatically selected pages are recorded in the Pages field. To restore pages entered manually, invoke the Restore user settings mode
To do this, right-click to open the menu and select the corresponding Page Display mode: • Enable; • Reset.
The page display mode can also be toggled by double-clicking the left mouse button on a page. Image scaling is performed using the < > keys. To accelerate map redrawing, configure the Display Composition in the Print Map dialog located on the expandable panel on the right. This panel represents a set of user maps included in the main map. To enable/disable layer display, check/uncheck the box in the corresponding field and click the Update button The maximum number of pages for display is 100.
The status bar of the Print Map dialog displays information: • Number of pages (in parentheses, the actual number of pages calculated considering the scale - may exceed 100 pages); • Numbers of selected pages (a list of selected pages separated by commas, e.g.: 2,4); • Page size in mm; • Device resolution; • Required disk space. |
