Geographic map nomenclature (OGK) |
The standard map sheet nomenclature is composed from the subsystem code or the Mid-latitude subsystem block, the scale code and the sheet number. Codes of subsystems, Mid-latitude blocks and scales are as follows:
Sheet number includes number of Longitude and Latitude zones, which intersection it is located on. Numbering of both zones starts at 0 and rises from bottom to top (Latitude) and from left to right (Longitude). Nomenclature template looks like: 99 - 99 - 99 - 99 12 34 56 78 1 symbol . Means the block or the subsystem, accepts values From 1 up to 8. 2 symbol. Means the scale, accepts values from 1 up to 5. 3, 4 symbols. Number of Latitude zone, Longitude zone of subsystem, accepts values from 00 up to 24. 5, 6 symbol. Number of Latitude zone, Longitude zone of the scale 1:10 000 000, 1:5 000 000, 1:2 500 000, 1:1 000 000 maps. Accepts values from 00 up to 99. 7, 8 symbol. Number of Latitude zone, Longitude zone of the scale 1:1 000 000, 1:500 000. Accepts values From 00 up to 11.
