Source and a format of the labels text

Print Previous page Top page Next page

The text label of an object can be generated based on the specified semantic characteristic of that object, as well as the rectangular coordinates X, Y; geodetic coordinates B, L; or the height value H of the first point of that object. If necessary, the symbol «.» in the generated text can be replaced with a comma «,». It is possible to add fixed text before (prefix) and after (suffix) the generated label texts.

For example, xy = 6537654.2, 7300000.1.

Additionally, selected objects can be labeled with arbitrary text.

Formation of the text by semantics of object

All real semantic characteristics of the selected objects are placed in a list of semantics. If the selected objects do not have any semantic characteristics, labels can be generated only based on coordinates or labeled with arbitrary text. When selecting a numerical semantic characteristic, the «Character before a comma» field automatically sets the precision value defined for that semantic characteristic in the classifier. If necessary, the number of decimal places in the generated label text can be changed.

Formation of the text by X and Y coordinates

For generating label text, X and Y coordinates can be selected with units of measurement in meters or kilometers (useful for labeling kilometer grid lines).

Formation of the text by B and L coordinates

The option to label based on geodetic coordinates is available if the open map supports conversion to geodetic coordinates. Coordinate values are generated based on the selected unit of measurement - degrees; degrees and minutes; degrees, minutes, seconds. If needed, a conditional hemisphere designation (N for north, S for south for latitude, and E for east, W for west for longitude) can be added to the coordinate text, for example, 55° 37.2'N or 37°44'15.2"E.

Formation of the text by H coordinate

The precision value of coordinate H (number of decimal places) is set in the corresponding field. If the object being labeled does not have a height coordinate H, the absolute height value for text generation can be obtained from the underlying height matrix or interpolated from the heights of surrounding objects.
