This auxiliary mode is used in the modes of vector map editor: Create an object, Create an object copy, Edit point, Moving object. Capture a grid node is activated by selecting the corresponding option in the context menu, or by pressing the «N» button. Disabling the capture a grid node is performed by pressing the «N» button again.

Activating the capture of a grid node in different modes works differently. When new contour points are drawn in the «Create object» mode, the points are automatically linked to the grid nodes. When you insert or move contour points in the «Edit point» mode, the points are automatically snapped to the grid nodes.

In the «Create an object copy» and «Moving object» modes, the source node of the object is first selected, then the object is moved with snapping to the grid nodes. Snapping to grid nodes is performed even if it is not drawn. To display the grid, select from the main menu: View - Grid view.
