Save map legend |
Procedure is intended for creating templates of border legends which can be used further for formation of out-of-frame bordering of digital map's sheets. Use of legends templates at formation of out-of-frame bordering a nomenclature sheet of digital map consists in replicating the image that was created (vectorized) by means of the vector map editor and saved in the form of a legend template. In order to use the legend template when creating an out-of-frame bordering, it is necessary that the template of bordering (the corresponding .FRM file) contained a link to the legend template.
For example: .LABEL D:\DATA\FRAMES\SHEMES\Sheme.lbl 8-13.9-99.5 where .LABEL - a keyword, D:\DATA\FRAMES\SHEMES\Sheme.lbl - location of the legend template (if the legend template is contained in the directory in which the GIS is installed, instead of the full path you can specify the record ..\Sheme.lbl), 8 - the number of a binding's point on the sheet frame (middle of the southern frame), -13.9 and -99.5 - offset of the legend relative to the binding's point in mm vertically and horizontally respectively.
Legend location (binding's point number, vertical and horizontal offset) are recorded and directly into the legend file. In case legend location parameters in a file of a legend and a file of a template of out-of-frame bordering do not coincide - the values from a file of a template of out-of-frame bordering are considered as priority. Creating a legend template consists of two stages. At the first stage, using the tools of the maps editor, an image of the created legend is formed. The legend can contain only objects, the type of which is selected from the library of conventional symbols when it is drawn onto the map. The use of "graphic" objects is not allowed. Next, select the objects that will be saved into the legend template and activate this procedure. In the task window, specify the name of the created legend template file and the point of binding the legend template. The point of binding (disposition) can be one of eight conditional points of the sheet border. The choice of a binding's point means that irrespective of the sizes of frames of nomenclature sheets made in the future, the distance from a legend put by a template from a point of the designed frame, specified as the binding one, will be invariable.
After the legend template is successfully created, the Append to template button becomes available. This means that a link to the created legend template can be automatically added into the specified design template. The objects of the map placed into the design legend must belong to the same map (created by one classifier). The name of the source classifier is automatically entered into the legend file. At drawing of out-of-frame designing with use of a legend of out-of-frame bordering, the corresponding classifier should be in the GIS directory (the directory that was specified when installing the GIS. Use of design legends for formation of out-of-frame bordering is described in details in the description of using the procedure of forming out-of-frame bordering.
