There are several ways to call the task: - having chosen menu item the File - New - Matrix of qualities; - having chosen menu item the Tools - Map Computer - the panel of Operation with surfaces - the button for Create matrix of qualities.
The input data for modeling the surface are the objects on a vector map, in which semantics or height of metrics the value of the modelled characteristic, or MTD-model point is written down. To choose a processed map or MTD-model it is possible in the list the Input map or MTD-model from the maps opened in the current document. The name of a created matrix is entered in standard dialog of choosing a file, in which it is possible also to choose a matrix type - matrix of quality *.mtq or a matrix of elevations *.mtw (the matrix of qualities differs from a matrix of elevations by presence of a separate palette in each file of the matrix). When you create a matrix by a vector map, the following methods of building a surface are available: - Linear interpolation by a grid of triangles; - Kriging; - Cokriging.
Methods of logarithmic interpolation, Kriging and Cokriging use a single technology of loading the points which is customized in the Options dialog. At matrix creation by MTD-model there is accessible only one method of Weighted average interpolation by MTD-model nearest points. The choice of the modelled parameter is carried out in the group of Modelled parameter. It is possible to choose use of semantics or height from the metrics as the modelled parameter, having included the relevant modes. If both modes are activated, the priority is the height from the metrics. At matrix creation by MTD-model the mode by the metrics is only available, because MTD-model does not contain semantics. When you create a matrix of qualities (for matrixes of heights it is disabled) it is possible to customize a palette for displaying a created matrix. To customize a palette it is possible in standard dialog of customizing a palette or to load it from the earlier created matrix of qualities. To define dimensions of the created matrix it is possible on the All region, By frame, By contour, By object or Separate matrix for each selected object. Creation of matrixes by selected objects is available, if before calling dialog on the map there were selected polygonal objects or the closed linear objects limiting the matrix. Creating a matrix on the entire selection is available, if the dialog before calling on the map were identified limiting matrix areal or closed linear objects. By marked objects the names of created matrixes are set by the rules defined in dialog the Name pattern... For modes Kriging and Cokriging the creation of matrixes by marked objects is not available, because it requires interactive customization of parametres before performance of building a matrix. If the area of building a matrix is limited by object with subobjects then the following variants of filling a matrix are possible: Only object, Object without subobjects, Only subobjects, Object with subobjects. The size of an element of a created matrix in metres on district is entered in the field the Element size. File size field shows approximate size of a created matrix at current dimensions and the size of an element. For Kriging and Cokriging methods the additional customization of parameters for modelling and building matrix is performed in the corresponding dialog, called by pressing the Next>. For other methods the matrix construction is performed by pressing the Build button.
