Configuring ODBC to access the text files (*.txt, *.csv)

  1. Start program the Data Source Administrator.
  2. In section User DSN or System DSN click Add button.
  3. In the appeared window choose Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt, *.csv) and click the button Finish.
  4. In the appeared window in the field DataSourceName enter a name of a data source, for example, ExampleText.
  5. Remove the tag Use Current Directory if your text file is not in the program directory.
  6. Press the button Select Directory and choose the directory in which text files are located with which it is necessary to work.
  7. Click the button Options>>.
  8. Select/add the necessary extension and click the button Define format.
  9. In the appeared window specify the format of the text file and click Ok button.
  10. Click Ok. Once again Ok.
  11. Check the workability of the created data source.
