Program execution

Starting the process of rasters formation is carried out by the Run button. By pressing Cancel button (during an execution) the stop of process is carried out. During an execution a number of processed scales can be changed.

The constructed rasters gather into a file of the project (XPS).

Process of formation of raster maps of great volume (more than 10 gigabytes) can occupy a lot of time (from one o'clock and more). Therefore during an execution the calculation of execution time is made. Calculation of an execution time is made upon termination of writing down of the first 500 mbyte of raster data (from 4 till 10 minutes from the beginning of process) and specified up to the termination of process. Difference of factual time of an execution from a primary estimated time usually does not exceed 20 percent.

Upon termination of process in the subdirectory of a map (Images) the file of the project is contained («Name of the project.XPS»), inside of Images folder the constructed rasters are contained. Each set of rasters is located in a folder of its own scale. The file of the project contains names of files of the constructed rasters and other information.

In figure 9 there is shown the moment of the termination of forming a raster map of Russia, the base scale 1 : 1 000 000, occupying in the vector form 95.7 MB in format SXF. Formation of rasters was  performed in scale from 1 : 5 000 000 up to 1 : 200 000, containing 686 thousand objects on 40 sheets, with the sizes of rasters of uncompressed kind no more than 2.7 GB. To the main map 46 matrixes of heights in the total volume of 9.35 GB have been added. Creation of rasters was carried out with the included functions of anti-aliasing, shadows and a mode «Printer view» on the computer of the following configuration:

-processor: Intel Core2Duo – 2.4 GHz;

-RAM: 2 GB;

-hard disk: 320 GB;

-operating system:;

-operating system: MS Windows 7.

Time of forming the rasters is 1 day and 20 hours.

In total 433 306 tiles in png format are created, with the sizes of each tile of 256*256 pixels, total volume in files is 4,5 GB.
