Set a palette for matrix of qualities

Previous Top Next

Palette of matrix of qualities is formed by by specifying one or more color intervals. Borders of color intervals are defined by initial (skeletal) colors. The internal colors of the interval can either repeat the initial color of the interval, or evenly change from the initial color of the interval to the final color.

To customize the matrix palette, you must specify the number of colors (from 1 to 256) in the Colors count field of the Colors scale group. Further it is necessary to set initial (skeletal) colors by pressing in the upper strip of colors of the horizontal scrolled group.  Initial colors specify the boundary colors of the intervals of the resulting palette. Initial colors are transferred into the corresponding positions of the resulting palette, the remaining colors of the resulting palette are filled in depending on the mode Smooth colors modification.

When the Smooth colors modification mode is off, the internal color of the interval repeats the initial color of the interval. When the Smooth colors modification mode is enabled, the components of the intensity of the internal colors of the interval regularly change from the initial color of the interval to the final one.

After setting the palette by specifying the intervals in it, you can change single colors. To do this, you need to click the left mouse button on the color to be changed in the lower ruler of the color bar. It is necessary to remember that the enabling or disabling of mode Smooth colors modification cancels the made changes of single colors.

The palette of the created matrix of qualities can be loaded from the file of the previously created matrix when you click the From file button.

The matrix of qualities is displayed element by element. Let the colors count of the matrix palette be equal to N. Then to the values of elements of a matrix are put in conformity N of diapasons, each of which corresponds to the color of the palette. The quality's value of the displayed element is included into one or another diapason, by the number of which the color of the palette is selected.

If there is chosen the scale type Regular or Nonregular, in the Minimum, Maximum windows of the Colors scale group, you can set the lower and upper bound of the displayed quality values. If there is selected the first type of scale - Regular (Minimum, Maximum - not defined), then the lower and upper bounds of the displayed values are set automatically, based on the actual values entered in the matrix.

If the scale type Nonregular is selected, then you can change the diapason limits in the Diapasons of values of quality group. Change of borders of diapasons is carried out at pressing of the Enter key after correction of numerical values in edited line.

Modes Include values less than minimum and Include values more than maximum affect the display of matrix elements whose values lie outside the general diapason of displayed values specified by the Minimum and Maximum fields. When these modes are enabled, the elements with values outside the general diapason are displayed by the first or the last color of the list in the Diapasons of values of quality group.

In the Precision window of the Colors scale  group, you can specify the required number of decimal places when displaying the minimum, maximum, interval size, diapasons limits.

Saving the palette group provides the ability to create and edit a set of user palettes. The contents of a set of user palettes are displayed in the Palettes list dialog box. A set of user palettes is saved in the file \Users\Public\Documents\Panorama\palette.ini.
