Rotation and scaling of objects

Previous Top Next

ic_8410 The rotation and scaling of objects implements by using of an overall dimensions frame in which one the selected object is placed (either all marked objects or the set of objects, if (Editing object group mode is included in Map Editor Options). To change position and sizes of a frame and accordingly a set you can execute by mouse cursor moving with the pressed left mouse button. Thus there are three modes of a repositioning of a frame, each of which is accompanied by a definite sort of the cursor:

- change of overall dimensions;

- moving;

- rotation.

For change of overall dimensions of a frame it is necessary to place the mouse cursor on one of chips. If the cursor is on angular chip the overall dimensions vary in two directions (on height and width). If the cursor is on chip arranged on one of the sides the overall dimensions vary in one direction (on height or on width).

At mouse cursor movement with the pressed left mouse button a shift of a frame without change of its overall dimensions take place.

To pass into a rotation mode it is necessary to press the ALT key at mouse cursor moving. Directly rotation is executed at pressing ALT key and mouse cursor movement with the pressed left mouse button.

Moving of cursor with the released button does not change a frame overall dimensions position.

It is recommended to do rough frame positioning by mouse and to use arrow keys along with pressed left mouse button for precise frame positioning.  Fixing of the object set is made at the moment of completion of executed operation.

To change position of one object from a set after selection of object it is necessary to answer "no" to the question: "To edit all objects? ".

There is a possibility to change center and turn angle of edited object onto concrete value or to set distance from edited object up to a copy. For this purpose it is enough to press Space key or to call an item of the Parameters of moving context menu, then the dialog with parameters will appear. The moving of object with usage of this dialog has happen concerning a point of binding (it is indicated by a cross). The point of binding simultaneously is also a center of turn. Initially the point of binding is in the center of an overall dimensions frame.

In the dialog three modes of object moving are used:

- by distance (the direction of moving and distance in this direction are set);

- by coordinates (the new coordinates of displaced object are set);

- by increase (the offset is set, on which one it is necessary to shift initial object).

The position of a binding point can be changed having indicated concrete coordinates in the dialog " Parameters of moving" or using items of the context menu:

- Point of binding (center of an overall dimensions frame);

- Point of binding (point of a contour);

- Point of binding (arbitrary point of a contour);

- Point of binding (arbitrary point).

There is a possibility of Scaling of objects concerning a point of binding (conforming item of the context menu). And if at scaling of objects disregarding points of binding, size of object and its arrangement are changing according to a change of size and position of a rubber contour, then in a Scaling of objects concerning a point of binding mode the size of object is changing according to a resizing of a rubber contour, and the position of object is fixed concerning a point of binding. Thus rubber contour (overall dimensions frame) will be tuned up under the new sizes and position of object.
