Types of processed data

The program provides for processing of spatial data in formats that are processed by the client software the «Complex of maintaining a databank of digital maps».

In an automatic mode the digital vector maps and plans of cities in following exchange formats are processed:

- SXF;

- SHP;

- MIF\MID;

- KML.

Data of remote sensing include the materials of air and space surveying of terrain in a raster form. Data of remote sensing and scanned map-materials in the following exchange formats can be processed:

- TIFF/GeoTIFF (TIF, TIFF);

- IMG.

Together with files of raster data the binding files can be stored in following formats:

- TAB;

- “world file” (TFW, JGW, JPGW, BPW, J2W, SDW, NFW, WLD);

- INI;

- TPF (PHOTOPLAN);

- PLN ("Talka");

- MAP (OziExplorer);

- XML.

Matrixes of heights and terrain model can be represented in the following exchange formats:

- MTW;

- HGT.

The list of stored formats is edited by means of the software «Complex of maintaining a databank of digital maps».

Many formats of files suppose placing the data in several files. For example, one digital vector map in the MIF\MID format may consist of two types of files (MIF and MID), digital vector map in SHP format may include four types of files (SHP, DBF, SHX, PRJ). Thus, the total number of files of each type, which belong to one set, can be from one to several hundred.

Together with files of the spatial data in exchange formats into a databank the files of the metadata in XML format can be placed that are prepared in accordance with the requirements of standards «ISO 19115:2003, Geographic information - Metadata» and «ISO/TS 19139, Geographic information - Metadata - XML schema implementation».

It is recommended to assign to a file of metadata the same name, as at a described data set, with addition of a name extension “.xml”.

For example: «n37001.sxf and n37001.sxf.xml”, «kaluga.tif and kaluga.tif.xml”.
