In order to work correctly with the geo database ArcSDE in the database Oracle of GIS Panorama software, it is necessary that the database Oracle have the same parameters as specified in section 2.2 for the new database. Particular attention should be paid to the encoding of the database.

It is recommended that you periodically perform certain routine procedures with the database Oracle that hosts the geodatabase ArcSDE. These are procedures such as updating table indexes and mapping database statistics. The obsolescence of statistics can lead to a significant slowdown in any query to the database.

Updating the statistics is performed by built-in means of DBMS using commands of package DBMS_STATS and ANALYZE. To obtain information about the necessary reglament procedures and commands for their implementation, it should consult the administrator's guide for DBMS Oracle.
