Group of data unites the data sets having some formats of storage.

At placing into Bank the files presented in one of registered formats are analyzed only.

The mode Options\Formats displays the list of formats and their description.

Detailed information on a storage format:

To form a new record press the button «Add record» and enter the following information:

-format of the master file - extension of the file which is the master one in a data set. For example, SXF, SHP, MIF;

-type of metadata - type of the metadata table into which the description of the metadata of a data set for the given format will be placed. To define a place of storage of a data set, it is necessary to find groups of the data connected with the same table of metadata. If there are several such groups, the decision on a choice of concrete group is chosen by the operator;

-necessarily - a list of file extensions, separated by commas, which should accompany the master file in the set. For example, files, MIF and MID, SHP and DBF are always written in pairs;

-permissibly - a list of file extensions, separated by commas that may accompany the master file in the set. To repeat extensions of files from the field mf_request it is not required. For example, file GeoTIFF can contain geocoding parametres in the master file or in an accompanying file of a binding (a world file, file TAB and so on);

-comment.

Thus, all kinds of stored spatial data are placed in accordance with belonging to the group of data at the specified medium.

Each group contains the folders corresponding to year and month of updating the master data file.

The name of a folder looks like YYYYMM01, where:

YYYY - year of updating the file,

MM - month of updating of the file.

For example, \\MapStorage\\Data\Vector map\20090501.

If the period of storage is 20 years old, each group of data will be divided no more than onto 240 folders by the number of months. Total number of units of data storage of one kind can be from several thousand to millions copies that demands the organization of hierarchical structure of storage. In a folder with update date (up to a month) the folder is created that identifies the data set. For maps, rasters and matrixes containing the data in one file the folder has a file name. For example, for files SXF, TIFF, MTW and so on.

For maps in formats MIF, SHP in the same folder can be stored from one to several hundred files containing the description of the individual map layers. The folder name can be called by name of the first file or by a name of the source folder containing a set of files of the specified format. To a file name in a folder the identifier of the data format is added. For example, \\MapStorage\\Data\Vector map\20090501\Kaluga.SHP.

All types of data can periodically be updated and added into storehouse. Therefore in a folder with a data set name the folders with date of updating a set  accurate within day are created.

For example, \\MapStorage\\Data\Vector map\20090501\Kaluga.SHP\20090527.

In a folder with the date of update there will be placed the actual data sets in an exchange and storage format and related with them files of a binding, metadata and review images.

For example:

\\MapStorage\\Data\Map\20090501\N37001.SXF\20090527\n37001.sxf

\\MapStorage\\Data\Map\20090501\N37001.SXF\20090527\topo100t05g.rsc

\\MapStorage\\Data\Map\20090501\N37001.SXF\20090527\n37001.sxf.preview.jpg

\\MapStorage\\Data\Map\20090501\N37001.SXF\20090527\n37001.sxf.meta.xml
